Artist Haniko Zahra will be in conversation with artist-curator Rachel Hakimian Emenaker on the occasion of Thorns In Your Side, a two-person exhibition at House of CoHit Gallery.
Through distinct visual languages—Zahra’s lush, psychologically charged oil paintings and Affsoongar’s intimate, narrative line drawings— the exhibition explores themes of interiority, memory, myth, and feminine resistance. This conversation will delve into Zahra’s storytelling process, symbolic use of animals and objects, and the emotional tensions that drive her practice. Together with Emenaker, they will reflect on vulnerability, identity, and the role of fiction in reframing the everyday.
